AWS WAF + Stripe lets sites charge AI agents via HTTP 402, with fiat payouts

AWS and Stripe partnered to let businesses monetize traffic from AI bots and agents. You connect your Stripe account via Stripe Connect in the AWS WAF console; existing pricing and agent policies stay unchanged. When an agent requests protected content, WAF returns an HTTP 402 with accepted payment credential types — once the agent retries with a valid credential, content is served ungated.

Stablecoin payments can now settle in local currency directly to the Stripe balance, so publishers don't need to hold stablecoins or manage a crypto wallet. Revenue from all providers shows up in WAF console analytics. The integration is available at no extra charge to WAF customers using CloudFront (standard WAF and Stripe fees apply).
