Baker Lab + NVIDIA unveil RFD4-Proteina: agents run protein design tool calls on GFP
AllThingsApx · x · 2026-11-06
Baker Lab and NVIDIA GenAIR present RFD4-Proteina, a protein design model claimed to beat all compared methods in silico and in the lab. Posted examples show agents performing tool calls on a GFP template: ALFA-tag insertion, iterative redesign to fix atom clashes, loop redesign, a 60-aa binder design, circular permutation, pi-stacking against SAM, and motif scaffolding preserving GFP's chromophore — all run autonomously on Modal cloud compute.
