Anthropic discloses $895B in infra commitments; Gary Marcus says $2T IPO may slip
GaryMarcus · x · 2026-11-06
Per KobeissiLetter, Anthropic has disclosed a record $895 billion in future AI infrastructure spending commitments (purchase commitments plus compute leases): $448B (50%) expected by end-2030, $70B due within 12 months.
Biggest counterparties: Broadcom at $161B, Google at $121B (plus up to $150B estimated on Google's AI chips), up to $121B to SpaceX, and at least $110B to Amazon. Only Alphabet has larger commitments among Big Tech.
Gary Marcus comments that given these numbers versus negligible profits and today's market correction, Anthropic's IPO is "surely somewhat threatened" — a $2T valuation is probably off the table, and a delay seems likely at minimum.
