Lightcone Commons Opens AI-Safety Grant Applications, Backed by Jaan Tallinn and Moskovitz
NathanpmYoung · x · 2026-11-06
Nathan Young announced that Lightcone Commons is open for grant applications: create an account and submit an editable living document to connect with funders.
- One of the biggest first-round funders is Jaan Tallinn, primary backer of the Survival and Flourishing Fund, whose giving spans AI x-risk work at Palisade Research, longevity research, river legal rights advocacy, and pronatalist.org — with most funding aimed at aligning or controlling superintelligent AI.
- Another major funder is Dustin Moskovitz (Coefficient Giving).
The platform itself doesn't decide funding directions; participating funders keep full discretion.
