Perplexity launches Teammates: proactive AI coworkers that message you on Slack
inductionheads · x · 2026-11-06
Perplexity rolls out Teammates (research preview for Max users): agents that take on jobs proactively, using Computer tasks, skills, memory, and tools, collaborating with each other and messaging coworkers in Slack. Internally they've saved hundreds of hours per person on deep research, data analysis, QA, ticket triage, and code review—closing the loop without repeated steering. CEO framing: agents are rising beyond tools into coworking roles, leaving humans vision-setting, quality judgment, and teaching restraint.
