n8n (207k GitHub stars) officially launched Agents: describe a goal, pick a model plus the tools and workflows it may use, and the agent plans its own steps — callable from Slack, schedules, or any workflow. Agents can use existing workflows as tools for precise permission control, and a new Message an Agent node lets workflows call agents inline. n8n says it runs 12,000+ automated workflows internally, and existing AI Agent nodes keep working unchanged.
