Shopper points Grok at a card-store shelf photo and gets per-product buying advice
billyjhowell · x · 2026-11-05
A user shopping for sports cards for his nephew snapped a photo of a Target shelf and asked Grok Bot what was worth buying. The AI returned surprisingly specific analysis: it recommended 2026 Allen & Ginter blasters ($24.99, freshest baseball product), Topps '75 value boxes (check for the 'Update' side panel indicating the new rookie set), Donruss Optic basketball (the only real NBA product, better rookie value retention), and Prizm/Select football hangers — while advising to skip Elite baseball, WWE/AEW/UFC boxes, and Jersey Fusion blast packs.
The author ended up grabbing Topps Bowman baseball and Marvel Topps chrome boxes. A neat example of vision + on-the-spot research in a retail setting.
