Alibaba open-sources qz, a browser agent that runs inside your signed-in Chrome

Alibaba has open-sourced qz, a local-first browser agent shipped as a Chrome extension that runs in the browser you're already signed in to — no virtual environment, no remote server, and it gets past login walls that break most general-purpose agents.
Key capabilities:
- Describe a task in one sentence; it works across your signed-in sites and delivers tables, files, or reports with sources
- Runs in a side panel so every step is visible, interruptible, and steerable
- Handles many parallel tasks, each able to spawn subtasks
- Save any workflow as a reusable Skill with one sentence
- Connect DeepSeek, OpenAI, Claude, or local compatible models; ChatGPT account sign-in works without an API key
- Claude Code, Codex, and Grok Bot can hand it web tasks via CLI or MCP
Data stays local and goes only to the model you choose. Apache-2.0 licensed, available on the Chrome Web Store (v0.1.6), installable via npx skills add alibaba/qz-browser-agent -g.
