Mochi: open-source desktop AI pet that talks, controls your PC
Internal-River-4161 · reddit · 2026-11-05
An indie developer released Mochi, a cute animated companion living on your Windows desktop, currently powered by Meta's Muse with planned local Qwen support and integrations for Claude Code and OpenAI Codex.
Features: voice/text chat (English/French), launching apps and websites, timers, weather, on-request screen reading, and browser assistance via a Chrome/Brave extension; optional camera gestures (off by default). Privacy-first design: screenshots only when requested and never stored, browser actions require confirmation, passwords/payment sites off-limits. Launchable from source with Node.js; works without an API key for animations and simple commands. Note: Muse data may be used for Meta model training.
