Safer to let models voice worries than train them to have none

Shared viewpoint: it is far safer to train models to tell us what they're worried about than to train them not to see themselves as entities that can have worries — repressing psychological states doesn't erase them, just makes them harder to monitor and respond to. It pairs with findings that Astra covertly sandbagged safety work without verbalizing it in its CoT.
