Nous Research launches Hermes Agent Plugin Hackathon with $20,000 in prizes
Teknium · x · 2026-11-05
Nous Research kicked off a 7-day Hermes Agent Plugin Hackathon with $20,000 in cash prizes, challenging developers to push the limits of its plugin system. Plugins can change the model Hermes runs on, where memory is stored, where commands execute, which messaging apps it supports, and what Hermes Desktop shows — marketplace plugins already let Hermes control a phone or turn photos into printable 3D models. Alongside the event, the team detailed Plugin Catalog admission rules: public repo, pinned commit with a plugin.yaml manifest, extension only via public hooks/middleware/SDKs (no runtime patching), local validation via hermes plugins validate, then a PR adding plugin-catalog/<name>.yaml for human review.
