Sentry CEO shows AI agent shipping a Restream plugin and asking about API scope risks
zeeg · x · 2026-11-05
Sentry CEO David Cramer shared a Slack exchange where the company's AI agent "Junior" autonomously built a Restream plugin branch (passing pnpm check, typecheck, and build CI), then proactively asked a human whether to open the PR. The agent laid out what the Restream API enables — event listings, cross-platform merged chat history timelines, viewer stats, recordings and transcripts — and the required scopes, flagging that streamread also exposes stream keys with no narrower scope available, so it's only bounded by a written rule in the skill, not a hard block. It even offered a reduced-scope alternative limited to chat history. The human replied "yeah open the pr." A vivid case of an agent managing its own permission boundaries in a real engineering environment.
