MCP listing on Claude brought 24,000 users in 5 weeks, founder says launch there first

The founder of SlickTrip, a flight/hotel price tracker, says a Claude Code-built MCP connector went live in Claude's directory in late September and drove up to 1,500 sign-ups a day for two weeks, now steady at 250/day — 24,000 new accounts total with zero ads. Claude recommends the tool alongside Expedia and Booking.com whenever users ask about travel, and connected users invoke its tools on every trip query. By contrast, ChatGPT's connector store has kept them waiting a month for approval, with no search visibility until then. His takeaway: launch MCPs on Claude first.
