Agentic commerce splits two ways: network tokens vs. agents with their own stablecoin wallets
schwentker · x · 2026-11-05
sytaylor argues agentic commerce will evolve down one of two paths: network tokens (the Apple Pay model, replacing today's hack of handing agents your card number) or agents holding their own stablecoin wallets with attached cards.
He also hypothesizes that personal agents will eat ad revenue, hyperscaler compute revenue will only partially fill the gap, and commerce plus subscriptions must make up the rest — forcing agents to deliver ever more value and negotiate better deals for their users. In effect, agentic commerce becomes the new advertising.
