Bittensor AI subnets show real traction: Chutes logs ~$3.6M inference revenue
markjeffrey · x · 2026-11-05
Bittensor's AI economy is starting to show real commercial traction, with a growing number of subnets turning machine intelligence into paid products and 128 fiat onramps inside the ecosystem, some already generating revenue.
Layer 1 — GPU compute and inference (the strongest commercial vertical):
- liumio (SN51): rents GPU capacity to developers and AI teams
- engyai (SN53): runs verifiable inference across a distributed miner network
- chutesai (SN64): roughly $3.6M in inference revenue across Q1–Q3, though Q3 came in below the first two quarters
- TargonCompute (SN4) also operates here
The narrative: subnet revenues are beginning to flow back into the $TAO token economy.
