Researcher urges everyone to build their own robot — half-finished MABEL already delights the streets

Robotics researcher Jerry Cheng closed his thread urging everyone in robotics to design their own robot: take the 3D model from Fusion into MuJoCo sim or IsaacLab with a policy, then build it in real life and watch it move — "probably one of the most joyful things one could experience." Even half-finished, they took MABEL to the streets, where kids ran up to wave and strangers stopped to ask questions. "That joy was immeasurable, and it consistently reminds me why I love robotics."
