Researchers at NYU and University of Toronto Robotics introduced MABEL, a fully open-source mobile bimanual robot:
- $8K in parts
- Just 2 weeks from parts to a fully tested robot
- Everything open-sourced: hardware, firmware, teleop pipeline, controllers, learning pipelines, and digital twin simulation
Built in 3 months, starting from a tiny NYC studio apartment, with the goal of making capable full-stack robotics accessible to everyone.
