The Open Robotx team shared progress on its open-source Universal Manipulator: a bill of materials of just $1,500 assembled from off-the-shelf parts (no fabrication needed), plus a robot-as-a-service offering at $2,000/month for 24/7 operation. A commenter praised its unusual mobile manipulation mechanism as clever and a fun build.
