quiet.md open-sources a Rust+GPUI local notes app with Feishu DocxXML compatibility
vista8 · x · 2026-11-04
quiet.md is now open source (Beta, macOS/Windows): a blazing-fast local rich-text notes app built with Rust + GPUI, drawn directly on GPU with no WebView. Typing continuously in a 1-million-word doc yields 5.06ms median frame time (P95 5.78ms), under the 8.3ms budget of a 120Hz display; scrolling runs 2ms per frame.
Notes are plain-text DocxXML files — no account, offline by default — so agents like Claude Code and Codex can read and write them directly. It mirrors Feishu/Lark's editor closely with a built-in Feishu theme. MIT licensed, 257 stars at launch.
