TScert: a sound core for TypeScript with Lean-proven checker, 628/684 functions verified
cnakazawa · x · 2026-11-04
TScert is a research project building a "sound core" for TypeScript:
- TypeScript functions are accepted only when accompanied by a proof;
- The checker's soundness itself is formally proved in Lean;
- The first verification target is its own front end: 628 of 684 functions verified so far.
The authors describe it as "unfinished by design" and invite the community to read and inspect it. The work explores bringing formal methods to everyday programming languages' type-system soundness, relevant to correctness of AI-generated code.
