Building an AI-powered find-download-translate-Kindle pipeline with MCP tools
vista8 · x · 2026-11-04
vista8 shares an AI reading workflow that connects book discovery to reading:
- Discover books via AI RSS feeds and the "Hacker Bookshelf" site (featuring a Lindy list of books still recommended 30+ years after publication).
- Download ebooks via a self-hosted MCP running in Zcode — since codex and Claude Code sometimes refuse downloads; a demo shows the "Qiaomu MCP" finding Tiago Forte's new book and fetching the epub (7.33MB) in 2 minutes, auto-correcting a wrong match.
- Use the Qiaomu Kindle Assistant to generate bilingual (Chinese-English) translations and push them straight to Kindle.
He also notes Tiago Forte's newsletter offers a free English epub. The whole setup is a reproducible recipe for automating personal reading with MCP + translation tools.
