Claude Code cloud tasks act as you: should unattended agents get their own identity?
shoumikgoswami · reddit · 2026-11-04
Claude Code's cloud scheduled-task docs show that actions via connected GitHub accounts or connectors appear as you — commits carry your GitHub identity, Slack messages and Linear tickets use your linked accounts.
A commenter suggested separate tokens or bot accounts with read-only scopes for unattended runs, but that's beyond what the docs describe.
The author argues this is also an attribution problem, not just permissions: a week later, "the agent did it" vs "I did it" should be distinguishable without digging through logs. And a separate token only isolates access — if the service still displays your name, attribution remains ambiguous. He asks the community how they handle identity for unattended agents.
