Deep Principle open-sources Hydrogen-1.0, a science model trained on failed lab experiments, scoring 93% on GPQA Diamond

Deep Principle has released Hydrogen-1.0, its first general-purpose science AI model, with open weights researchers can adapt and evaluate on their own tasks.
Uniquely, it was trained on real lab records including failed experiments and how scientists recovered from them — teaching the model what happens when science goes wrong. It can run molecular simulations, interpret NMR spectra, and catch errors in experimental protocols, scoring 93% on GPQA Diamond.
The model is also integrated into the company's AI Scientist product, MIRA, supporting scientific reasoning, calculations, turning research ideas into experimental plans, and feedback-driven exploration.
