Tencent's Hunyuan Hy4 adds vision and computer use, but long-task reliability remains untested

Tencent released Hunyuan Hy4, adding two firsts: vision (understanding images and complex charts) and computer use across CLI and GUI, with specific training for tools like Blender and CAD.
The post raises three open questions:
- Long-task robustness: when a button moves, a permission popup interrupts, or a command fails mid-task, can the model diagnose and recover?
- Cost amplification: every failed action, retry, or new screenshot means more tokens and API calls — costs compound over long workflows
- State tracking: agents may complete several steps correctly, then lose track of progress or assume something worked when it didn't
Performing individual actions is one thing; surviving an entire workflow without losing state is another. The author calls for real-world testing of Hy4's computer use.
