GigaSpeech 3: 39,000 hours of weakly labeled dialectal Arabic speech released for ASR
X-LANCE · hf · 2026-11-04
GigaSpeech 3, from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tsinghua, Alibaba Token Foundry and others, offers 39,000 hours and 10 million weakly transcribed dialectal Arabic speech segments across five dialects (Algerian, Egyptian, Iraqi, Saudi, Syrian).
- Built from just 60 hours of manual transcription per dialect: speech-recognition-biased self-supervised labeling models label dialect-matched web audio, refined with four rounds of noisy-student training for Saudi and Syrian Arabic.
- Validated via dialect-specific and multi-dialect training: final dialect-specific models outperform their labeling models across all five dialects on GigaSpeechBench.
