Pi launches a minimal agent harness; Zammoth adds AI engineer to Mac music app

Pi (pi.dev) released a minimal coding agent harness (@earendil-works/pi-coding-agent) built around "adapt Pi to your workflows, not the other way around."
Key features
- Four modes: interactive, print/JSON, RPC, and SDK
- Supports skills and AGENTS.md; token-efficient via a minimal system prompt
- Extensible with extensions, prompt templates, and themes, bundleable as Pi packages shared via npm/git
- Rewind to any message, branch sessions, and share them; steer runs with Enter mid-execution
- Deliberately omits sub-agents and plan mode—ask Pi to build what you need on the fly
Ecosystem examples
- Zammoth, a native Mac music production app built in C++/JUCE on the Tracktion Engine mostly with Claude Code over 6 months, puts an "AI engineer" side panel in the app to run the session (poster's own product; pricing unconfirmed)
- Others use Pi with an MCP bridge to control REAPER and build JSFX audio plugins conversationally—conversational LLMs as an orchestration layer for DAWs
