Karpathy builds HackerTube in ~2 hours with zero code using Opus 5.5

Andrej Karpathy, tired of YouTube's "enshittified" recommendations, had Opus 5.5 build his own YouTube clone, hackertube.org, in about 2 hours without writing any code.
- Pipeline: Opus 5.5 downloaded all Hacker News comments; Sonnet filtered them in a Claude Code Workflow down to 40K video-recommendation comments, yielding 6,454 videos across 150 topics recommended on HN from 2007–2026. Opus then built the YouTube-style UI, deployed to a VPS, and hardened it.
- Manual work was only three things: creating a Google Cloud API key, booting a VPS, and buying the domain.
- Setup: Claude Code desktop app on Mac with Opus 5.5 at Medium effort; he says he no longer does traditional engineering at all—only talks to Claude.
- Details: thumbnails are frames from the 50% mark instead of uploader covers; account-free "For You" recommendations with state in the browser; keyboard shortcuts; full data export so your own agent can build its own version.
