GitHub Copilot lands in JetBrains Air with local and cloud agent tasks
mariorod1 · x · 2026-11-04
GitHub announced that Copilot is now available in JetBrains Air via the Agent Client Protocol (ACP). Developers can pick Copilot in Air's agent picker and delegate coding tasks, guide execution, and review results using their existing Copilot subscription.
- Local tasks: install Air in a JetBrains IDE, connect your Copilot account, and track multiple parallel agent sessions with in-context code review.
- Cloud tasks: run via Air Teams in isolated environments (Docker container on a fresh VM, proxied traffic, no state carried between tasks), billed against your Copilot plan instead of JetBrains AI credits.
- Enterprise cloud usage requires an Air Teams-enabled org, a Copilot subscription, and admin enablement.
