A team has released MDD-PGT, billed as the first genetic predictor for depression used in embryo screening, claiming that selecting the lowest-risk embryo out of 10 could cut depression risk by more than 40%. @neerajadeshp criticized the move, arguing that this over-engineered embryo screening resembles Bryan Johnson-style longevity hype—essentially pseudoscience that promises far beyond what it can deliver. She noted that people are angry because they assume it can truly screen out embryos predisposed to depression, whereas her frustration lies in the likelihood that it cannot do so at all.
