TimescaleDB Enterprise enters public beta as the data foundation for modern industrial historians
erinmikail · x · 2026-11-04
Tiger Data announced the public beta of TimescaleDB Enterprise, a self-managed version for on-prem, edge and private cloud deployments, positioned as the data foundation for the new Ignition Enterprise Historian shipping with Inductive Automation's Ignition 2027 (also in public beta).
- Reframing the historian: no longer just a tag-history store, but the data infrastructure for modern industrial operations across data centers, energy and manufacturing.
- Context: a massive industrial buildout — new factories, energy infrastructure, AI data centers and robotics — is generating far more sensor data, and operators want better visibility, control and AI agents that investigate problems and recommend actions.
- Enterprise-grade reliability on infrastructure customers control, while staying compatible with the open source TimescaleDB ecosystem.
