Canva lays off and reshuffles 22% of workforce as growth slows for the first time in a decade

Per Bloomberg, Canva's growth slowed for the first time in a decade; 1,271 people (22% of staff) face layoffs, role changes or relocation. The company says AI wasn't the cause — the overhaul aims to build AI products rather than automate departing staff's work — but serving AI features to a mostly non-paying base is so costly that several AI launches have been delayed.
