Tardigrade 0.52 ships built-in agent with Effect TS "npm for agents" dependency model
hrishioa · x · 2026-11-04
Tardigrade released 0.52.0 along with a redesigned landing page. It's a TypeScript framework for durable, event-driven actors built on Effect.
- 0.52 includes a batteries-included agent built from core primitives, hardened through production usage
- Key concept "libraries": Effect TS injects service dependencies, almost like npm for agents — layer a workspace library with a bun runtime, a virtual workspace with sqlite and isolates, or a full container with a mounted bucket
- Your entire agent is a typed Effect program, and all layers export as platform layers
- How it works: every event goes to an append-only log; durable atoms reduce events into state; effect atoms propose effects from state; the runtime executes them and appends new events
