Claude Code early team member Cat Wu leaves Anthropic after two years

Anthropic's Cat Wu (@catwu) announced Friday was her last day at Anthropic. She recalls joining two years ago when Claude Code was a small internal tool: she had Claude build an RL environment, steering it for tens of hours without manually writing a line of code — and was hooked.
She also contrasts early usage (manually approving every permission prompt, mostly Q&A and test-writing) with today's deep agentic workflows. Industry peers including reachvb sent congratulations.
