Menlo Ventures' "2026: The State of Enterprise AI" report: enterprise AI deployment spend jumped from $33B (2025) to $177B by Sept 2026 (5.4x), now over 30% of public cloud revenue. Open-source token use grew 22.5x, lifting its token share from 11% to 19%, but its price fell to $0.13 per million tokens (5x below closed models' $0.70), so its spend share slipped from 6% to 4%. Agents drove the surge: OpenRouter agent traffic passed human traffic in Feb 2026, then grew 37x vs 5x for humans, reaching 80% of tokens.
