Shield AI has revealed X-BAT 001, the first of two full-scale prototypes of its jet-powered, tail-sitting VTOL stealth multi-role combat drone. Footage shows the aircraft moving from its Frisco, Texas hub (X-Forge 1) to its flight test facility in Newton, Kansas (X-Forge 2). The tailless design has evolved significantly since its debut, with a half-scale model displayed at Sea-Air-Space 2026, and the US Navy has backed the program with hopes for an operational capability on an aggressive timeline.
