Dev plans Rust open-source rewrite of ResMed CPAP firmware, slams Anthropic classifier blocks
ryunuck · x · 2026-11-04
@ryunuck announces a recompilation project on AirSense CPAP firmware, planning a full Rust port with everything open-sourced and mods already scoped with Claude. He says Anthropic's safety classifier already blocks his reverse-engineering prompts, and argues the $2,000 machine contains only $80–150 of hardware with $5–10 worth of software. He vows to publish firmware on GitHub without FDA approval, work toward 3D-printed CPAP blueprints, and "destroy" ResMed's business over prescription-gated sleep apnea treatment.
