Dev vibe-codes a dictation app for his niece, ships it on the App Store

French developer @leploutos vibe-coded a small app for his niece's weekly dictation homework: iPhone's built-in OCR reads the word list, the Anthropic API generates sentence dictations using the week's words, and ElevenLabs reads them aloud. Realizing every parent of CE1–CM2 (primary school) kids had the same pain point, he turned it into a real product, "Point à la ligne", on the App Store.
How it works: photograph the word list glued in the notebook; the app dictates word by word or generates three short dictations per list, read classroom-style (full read → phrase by phrase with punctuation spoken aloud → re-read), with corrections highlighting agreement traps. Every generated text is human-checked before shipping. No account, no ads. Free tier covers word-by-word dictation; a subscription at €24.99/year or €3.99/month unlocks sentence dictations and family sharing. The author notes the hardest part wasn't the prototype but going from prototype to product—one mistake in a generated dictation is unacceptable.
