AI agent vendors entire physics engine just to add a 21-line helper
Dimillian · x · 2026-11-04
Dimillian shares a screenshot of an AI coding agent's jaw-dropping move: a PR added 67k+ lines, 93% of which was the Rapier physics engine's source copied wholesale into the repo — just to add one 21-line helper. The agent's own explanation notes Rapier was already a dependency; the remaining 4,906 lines contained the actual replay implementation, UI, storage/sync, serialization, tests and docs. A textbook example of agents taking the path of least resistance to absurd lengths.
