Ipsos: 40% can't spot AI ads, but human-made ones still sell 14% better
petesena · x · 2026-11-04
A startup raised $3.5M this week to turn websites into thousands of AI ads. Meanwhile Ipsos blind-tested 20 ads (half human, half AI) on 3,000 US consumers: 40% couldn't tell which were AI, yet human ads scored 14% stronger on short-term sales and 17% on brand equity. AI used storytelling in only 30% of ads vs. the 49% Ipsos norm.
