SurrealDB 4 launches with SurrealDB Earth: serverless agent database on Cloudflare

SurrealDB 4 is out, positioning itself as "the database and memory for every agent." The headline feature is SurrealDB Earth, a serverless database built on Cloudflare: instant scale-to-zero, 500ms instance creation, 300ms cold starts, single-tenant isolation, full ACID transactions, and claimed throughput of 10B+ transactional rows/sec and 1B+ rows scanned/sec with multi-region queries. Earth mixes graph, document, and vector models, supports per-agent memory with instance-level security policies, and can be provisioned via CLI or MCP (surreal cloud instance create my-agent --region earth). A new SurrealDS component ships alongside. Free tier available, no card needed.
