Google will cut off Google Search for schools that ban AI entirely

Google is giving schools finer control over AI tools, responding to educators' and parents' requests. But there's a catch: schools that ban AI entirely will also lose student access to Google Search.
VP of Education Chris Phillips said "Search and A.I. are deeply integrated" — AI features are now a standard part of Google's search engine, so banned-AI students will simply see a message that search isn't available.
A striking example of AI being bundled into core infrastructure, leaving institutions with an all-or-nothing choice.
