Anthropic silently pushed a server-side rule to Claude Code banning recreations of specific games

Around Oct 27, Anthropic pushed a new rule to Claude Code from its servers under the flag tenguheronbrook — no update required and no setting to disable it.
The rule: build original games, genre games, and games from the user's own designs and assets — but don't recreate a specific existing game, even renamed or labeled original.
The controversy is less about games and more about control: Anthropic can unilaterally decide what you're allowed to build with a tool running on your own machine, and whatever applies to games could apply to any project.
