What's missing from AI utopias: what the future actually feels like day to day

Most visions of AI going well are either a Dario Amodei "Machines of Loving Grace" world of wealth and entrepreneurship, or "neoliberalism in space." They dodge the harder question: what does the future actually feel like? What lives does it enable—what do people do all day? Thinking seriously about that tends to make people pessimistic, as in Bostrom's solved utopia or Clara Collier's essay on status games—which is why Meaning Aligned exists. This thread points to edelwax's "telocracy" vision (covered in its own entry).
