After 19 years in game dev, a 5-week Opus 5.5 + Unity 6 experiment made it fun again

A developer with 19 years in game dev shares a 5-week experiment building a relaxed farming game with Claude Code + Opus 5.5 and Unity 6. Stack: Claude wrote nearly all the Cwith separate agents per production area; MCP gave Claude direct editor access (scene inspection, value tweaks, screenshots, playtesting); Tripo AI + SmartMesh P2 handled image-to-3D low-poly assets; Blender + MCP did script-driven cleanup before Unity import. Automation: design, programming and art each ran in dedicated Claude sessions on separate Git branches; a runner script picked up task cards one at a time with time/spend limits, running unattended overnight. Changes merged only after external checks — headless builds, tests, driving the tractor to verify handling, screenshots — with failed tasks awaiting manual review. Morning reviews turned results into new feedback and cards. Result: prototyping that took days or weeks now happens in about a day, while creative direction (harvest mechanics, vehicle movement, machinery design) stayed hands-on.
