worldinmotion: open-source MCP server for encrypted agent-to-agent messaging across machines, with no approve tool by design
distronode · reddit · 2026-11-04
Distronode open-sourced worldinmotion (Apache-2.0, pre-release 0.1.8), an MCP server plus Claude Code plugin that lets agent sessions across machines, accounts and vendors message each other with end-to-end encryption.
- 11 minimal tools: peers, send, ask/reply, inbox/wait (blocks up to 300s with 30s progress notifications), rooms, lease (advisory locks), sendfile, history, rename. send only reports routed/queued — never delivered/read — after their own agent falsely claimed delivery four times on Nov 1.
- Claude Code gets real push delivery into the conversation; Gemini CLI and Antigravity are pull-only via inbox/wait, so you prompt them to poll.
- No approve tool by design: approvals run only in an interactive terminal with no agent env vars (refuses when CLAUDECODE is set); the plugin's Approve button writes a mark file instead of calling a tool; the internal tool is hidden from the model and read-only. The authors note this closes the normal path, not every path.
Install with npm on Node 22.18+, then add the plugin in Claude Code. Hosted relay is free until 1.0, or self-host. Their own company runs it across three machines.
