One command audits every skill loaded by Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and more — 236 found
UnicornAdoption · reddit · 2026-11-03
The author had Claude Code build a local one-command check (curl … | sh, no network calls) that lists every skill loaded by Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and others, including duplicates, drifted copies, 30-day usage, and pre-typing token cost. A single Claude Code session wrote a 900-line node script plus tests with a fake home folder; the first version wrongly counted every SKILL.md as loaded by Claude Code, which actually skips disable-model-invocation skills and nested upstream copies. On the author's Mac: 236 skills across 5 agents, 35 duplicated, 45 drifted, 202 of 225 unused in 30 days, 7.5k tokens of skill list per Claude Code session. Runs in 2.6s, needs node 18+, Mac/Linux/WSL.
