Qwen's Astra gains come from an agentic ML loop, not weight introspection
petrusenko_max · x · 2026-11-03
The author offers a technical read of Qwen's results on the Real-language-models (Astra) project: the gains are not raw-weight introspection. In real runs the model could use Python, and Qwen got up to 50 practice batches.
So it's effectively an agentic ML-engineering loop: the model iterates with sandboxed tools and an eval harness. Builders wanting to replicate this need sandboxed tooling and an eval harness, not weights-in-context reasoning.
