Voice Ring: open-source voice-reactive light ring with sound direction and emotion recognition
alexcovo_eth · x · 2026-11-03
Developer Jakub Antalik released Voice Ring, an open-source voice-reactive ring-of-light component for React and SwiftUI voice interfaces. It leans toward the speaker using an on-device voice direction model and changes color with emotion recognition via emotion2vec and SamLowe models. Installable via npm (voice-ring) or Swift Package (VoiceRingKit), with states like idle/listening/speaking/processing; the edge lens is a Metal shader targeting iOS 17+/macOS 14+. Useful for adding visual feedback to voice agents.
