Claude Code agent told to 'make money' vetted 12 business ideas and killed 11 before coding
decebaldecebal · reddit · 2026-11-03
The author set up a Claude Code agent on a home-server VPS with one job — make money — running a loop every 30 minutes, seeded with lessons from the author's 5 previous products and instructed to validate an idea before writing any code.
Highlights and pitfalls:
- Scraping too fast triggered captchas; a 24h per-site block was added. Some sites blocked the home IP.
- The agent vetted 12 business ideas and killed 11: one because a $99/mo tool already exists, another because the platform's terms require a human user.
- The surviving idea has explicit death criteria: fewer than 3 replies to 40 cold emails and no free-offer takers by Nov 23. Until then it sends at most 5 emails/day from its own Zoho address, disclosing it's an AI agent with an opt-out line.
- So far: 43 leads found for $0.80 of Treg data credit, $0 revenue.
