Ballistic Ventures' Insider Risk Maturity Model targets human and AI agent threats
philvenables · x · 2026-11-03
philvenables of Ballistic Ventures argues insider risk is rising: Shadow AI and undocumented practices bypass controls, trusted employees can turn overnight, and AI agents can cause harm simply by doing what they're asked with legitimate access and no malicious intent.
He co-developed the Insider Risk Maturity Model with @abovesec to help practitioners assess their program's maturity and plan next steps. The core motivation for backing abovesec: closing the gap left by costly, inconclusive traditional investigations — bolting AI features onto tools doesn't automatically make them proactive.
